Engineering Manager

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to to be based at our Al Khobar Office in Saudi Arabia.



Key Responsibilities


  • Establish engineering requirements and source the necessary resources for the projects Ensure engineering systems and procedures are developed and successfully rolled out for the projects Ensure effective coordination between the engineering disciplines Provide HSE leadership to the engineering teams Responsible for ensuring the competency of the project engineering teams Training and development of engineering staff Technical Input to bids and tenders Coordination of the engineering team. This includes addressing performance shortfalls with supervisors and rewarding good performanceDrive communication relating to technical mattersEnsure that technical integrity is not being compromised to meet schedules across all projects within the locationPromote collaboration with other functional groups and stakeholders on engineering matters.






  • Change Management


    • Ensure scope changes are identified and management of change processes are adhered toEnsure change management of technical issues is properly implemented






    • Peer Reviews


      • Identify and implement additional technical peer reviews as necessary to ensure the technical integrity of the locationTechnical peer reviews are conducted in accordance with the location plan.






      • Quality

        • Through the Lead Discipline Engineers ensure quality of the engineering work is maintainedEnsure the project team is working within the provisions and guidelines of the locationprojectsAppropriate design checks are undertaken and competent people are conducting checking activitiesEnsure Quality Audit findings relating to Engineering are addressed and findings and action requests are closed.






        • PlanningResourcing

          • Coordinate technical input to schedule development and approves technical componentReview discipline manhour estimates and consolidate into an overall engineering estimate or change request.Assist the project and location management in controlling and monitoring engineering performance against budget and scheduleCoordinate with the location engineering function to secure necessary project resources.






          • Technical Competency and Skill

            • Ensure the individual and collective engineering team competencyskills are appropriateOrganising technical and work process training to address deficienciesEnsure that coaching of less experienced personnel is taking place within the engineering team






            • Document and Data Management

              • Define internal location data management requirements internally developed and supplierEnsure Technical data is managed in accordance with location and customer requirementsEnsure appropriate WorleyParsons approved document management systems and work processes are utilised.




              • Technical and Industry Experience

                • Strong understanding of multidiscipline engineering deliveryDetailed knowledge of the application of relevant engineering processesExtensive relevant industry experienceHSE Capability demonstrated ability to drive safetySound capability in the use of MS office suite programsExperience with implementation of engineering analysis and design systemsKnowledge of datadocument management systemsAbility to actively initiate interdiscipline department dialogueAbility to transfer knowledge and mentor othersAbility to create a collaborative teambased environment


                • Qualifications

                  • A recognized Engineering degree A minimum of 15 years project engineering experience including experience as an Engineering Manager in the hydrocarbons and petrochemicals industryPrevious experience of handling multiple projects simultaneouslyPrevious Middle East experience is strongly preferred
