This leading international principal contractor is currently engaged on some of the highest profile projects in the Middle East.
Working on the prestigious Riyadh Metro project they are looking to appoint an expat Senior Estimator with a proven background of managing an estimating department.
All applicants should be degree educated with a minimum of 10 years39 experience in estimating on heavy civils projects ideally including some exposure to rail and the Middle East.
The successful candidate39s duties will include but won39t be restricted to
- Review requests for proposal addenda and all other contractual documents.
- Prepare and participate in meetings with clients joint venture partners and consultants
- Conducts capital cost estimates.
- Reviews design scope criteria and develop quantities for undefined scope assumptions in coordination with others.
- Conducts basic conceptual and order of magnitude OOM estimates and supports complex estimates. Develops conceptual quantities to supplement partial lump sum and Design amp Build design documents when definition is not available. Contributes to estimate basis and assumptions documentation.
- Prepares cost trend estimates in support of project cost trend programs.
- Directs others in the use of estimating software applications based on estimate scope and data availability.
- Participate in proposal clarifications and negotiations
- Participate in the coordination of design development with design team members on EPC projects
- Directs the work of junior staff who may be assisting with the estimating process eg. obtaining prices doing quantity takeoffs etc
- Provides coaching to more Junior Estimators on jobs that they may be working on
- Responsible for maintaining large working files as supporting documentation for estimating figures including current accurate information on prices from venders through exclusive contact marketing material preexisting price lists etc
- Performs cost and price analysis to establish price reasonableness.
