VAM SYSTEMS is currently looking for Oracle Database Administrator for our Qatar operations with the following skill set and terms and conditions: Skill Set required: • Preferably a BS in computer science or related engineering field. • Good understanding of the Oracle database, related utilities and tools • A good understanding of the underlying operating system • A good knowledge of the physical database design • Ability to perform both Oracle and operating system performance tuning and monitoring • Knowledge of ALL Oracle backup and recovery scenarios • A good knowledge of Oracle security management • A good knowledge of how Oracle acquires and manages resources • A good knowledge Oracle data integrity • Experience in all aspects of oracle database (analysis and design to implementation and support) • Minimum of 5 years of experience while providing operational DBA support to both production and non‐production database environments • Design, Install and admin/maintain Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) • Expert DBA level knowledge of Unix fundamentals and shell scripting • Design, Install and admin/maintain Oracle Data Guard • Design, Install and admin/maintain OEM, Grid Control • Understanding of and experience implementing Oracle Advance Security • Backup and Recovery (RMAN, Cloning, Data Guard, Export/Import) • Resource Monitoring (CPU, memory, I/O, RAC/ASM, etc…) • Oracle patches provisioning. • Experience performance tuning • Diagnostic evaluation (ADDM, AWR, ASH) • Tuning (advisors, SQL tuning, indexing, partitions, etc…) • A good understanding of Infrastructure (hardware, software, data, networking) • Sound knowledge of the implemented application systems • Business analysis and design experience • SQL and PL/SQL scripting and tuning • Unix shell scripting • In depth knowledge of Oracle internals (latches, system waits, resource allocation, data dictionary, table and index storage and access parameters) • Experience in designing solutions and performing global enterprise database backup and recovery • Experience in code migration, database change management and data management through the various stages of the development life cycle • A sound knowledge of both database and system performance tuning • Certified as an Oracle DBA is plus Responsibilities: • Design, install, configure, upgrade, and manage Oracle RDBMS 10g, 11g and 12c including backups, reorgs, update statistics, and any additional required maintenance. • Configure and manage database maintenance, apply Oracle related patches. • Manage Oracle clusters as well as environments containing replication. • Provide system administration staff with requirements for Oracle host machines. • Participate in an on‐call rotation as part of a leveraged DBA support team. • Represent database administration team in operational as well as project activities. • Production database support. • Define Oracle database architectures and strategies to meet application availability, scalability and performance requirements. • Provide technical guidance for integration, testing, design, development, planning of new major, large scale, production systems/databases. • Diagnose highly complex and integrated systems/databases such as system configuration, application design and application code. • Responsible for configuration management, performance tuning and administration of mission critical production databases. • Perform short and long term system/database planning and analysis. • Integrate/collaborate with application development and support teams on various IT projects. • Contribute to improving and creating DBA policies, procedures and standards.
