The Civil Engineering Unit provides technical consultations and support on issues related to civil structural and geotechnical engineering for both onshore and offshore facilities to projects and operating plants and maintaining company engineering standardsMinimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology from an accredited university. A Professional Engineer P.E. or Chartered Engineer C.Eng. license or registration would be desirable but is not essential. Five years' postgraduate experience as a Geotechnical Engineer or Engineering Geologist. Must have experience of Geotechnical field exploration including borehole drilling sampling and sample preservation rock coring cone penetrometer soundings and boring log preparation. Analysis of shallow foundations bearing capacity and settlement. Analysis of axial pile capacity for driven steel piles and for castinplace and augercast concrete piles. Analysis of lateral soil pressure retaining walls and slope stability. Analysis of earthworks including soil compaction excavation and shoring. Seismic and electrical resistivity testing Pile Integrity Tests and fullscale load tests.Duties and Responsibilities Prepare geotechnical investigation scopes of work and geotechnical reports. Provide consultations on geotechnical design and construction problems. Conduct field visits for construction issues. Conduct analyses and studies on complex projects as directed by Senior Geotechnical Engineers. Review geotechnical investigation reports conducted by third party geotechnical contractors.
