Emerald Group Publishing is a global publisher linking research and practice to the benefit of society. The company manages a portfolio of more than 290 journals and over 2,000 books and book series volumes, as well as providing an extensive range of online products and additional customer resources and services.
Emerald is seeking to appoint a Country Manager for Saudi Arabia, home based. The role will include managing and developing an existing account base and prospecting for new business, reporting into Emerald’s regional office in the UAE. The position covers Saudi Arabia and Yemen and requires regular travel within Saudi Arabia.

The ideal candidate will have commercial experience of selling databases into the academic market or business-to-business, with a clear focus on achieving market growth. The selected candidate will take ownership for delivering results, possess the gravitas to influence key decision makers and have high personal drive to succeed. As well as being a team player he should possess good organisational and IT skills.

Key responsibilities:
• The sale of databases to individual organisations and to key consortia, on single or multi-year agreements
• Achieving agreed sales targets
• Ensuring renewal revenue
• Customer visits (150 per annum as a target)
• Sourcing and prospecting leads
• Representing Emerald at conferences and exhibitions
• Contributing to the overall development of the products and services by providing customer feedback
• Updating and forecasting prospects and sales to an agreed timetable
• Effectively communicating with all relevant internal departments (Sales, Marketing, Publishing, Subscriptions Services, IT and Technical Support).
