The Role
Job Purpose
To Lead the production of Mechanical Shop Drawings schedules and any other mechanical engineering information required to facilitate compliant efficient and economical construction activities
Responsibilities
Lead the production of shop drawings required for mechanical services.
Ensure layout detail and schematic design drawings are followed in the production of shop drawings.
Ensure Engineering Manager andor Project manager are made aware of any engineering coordination related issuesproblems that arise when preparing shop drawings or reviewing design information.
Review all mechanical and public health drawings prior to formal submission.
Share important engineering information for coordinating with electrical services.
Ensure all individual Mechanical and Public Health services are coordinated with each other and with electrical services and other building interfaces.
Carry out design verification activities to ensure compliance with codes the original design intent and best practice.
Ensure engineering information is made available to the construction team in advance of site activities.
Ensure mechanical engineering information for construction is in compliance with codes best practice and the original design intent.
Execute mechanical engineering works required as a result of Contractual instructions where applicable and directed by the Engineering Manager and Project Manager.
Raise RFI’s to clarify anomalies and ambiguities in contract design information.
Assist the Engineering Manager in achieving targets for production of mechanical shop drawings.
Lead the production of MEP coordination drawings.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior design engineers and CAD operatives.
Attend andor arrange designcoordination meetings with Main Contractor Design Team and specialist subcontractorssuppliers.
Assist Commercial Department with valuations and identify potential variations in Mechanical systems.
Requirements
Senior Mechanical Engineer 2 required
• Nationality – ArabPakistaniIndian
• Experience – minimum 10 years as contractor and possibly some consultancy but must have worked in engineeringdesign department for production of designshop drawingsmaterial submittals
• Role responsible for managing a small team of engineersdraftsmen on several projects at once. Refer to Senior Mechanical Engineer job description attached.
• Salary level – Basic package 13k to 16k Riyals pcm depending on experiencesuitability
