Position DutiesResponsibilities
Reviews the Design Consultants' and main contractors' design and drawing packages for major projects for 238kV 115kV and below and give direction to a small team of electrical instrument engineers to do the same.
Prepares innovative designs for the continuing expansion of 13.8kV electrical distribution system.
Coordinates transmission and distribution of Saudi Electric Company SEC specifications standardspractices and comments into project design documents. Supply design consultants with information for all design issues including fault and load flow studies and interfaces.
Provides support to Construction Department and disposition field changes. Reviews construction shop drawings and materials submittals.
Prepares electrical design calculations load flow calculations cable ampacity and volt drop calculations.
Uses computer codes to perform analysis and design of electrical system and computation of power demand.
Supports Investment Promotion Department by reviewing designs submitted by the industries.
Continuously updates the status of power supply availability to the residential and industrial communities and provides solutions and alternatives to power supply routing and systems satisfying SEC's standards.
Position Skills
College graduate with BS in Electrical Engineering and a CharteredProfessional Engineer.
Demonstrable experience in the design of electrical power systems particularly at 115kV and its associated practices.
Conversant with the practices and procedures of a National electrical transmission authority.
Knowledge of codes and standards of IEEE or equivalent.
Handson experience in field construction.
Sufficient knowledge in computer codes for electrical design.
