Receptionist - Moevenpick Hotel Jeddah

The first significant contact with an arriving guest is made by the receptionist, for which reason it is important that this person has good manners, is pleasant, friendly, and polite and has a Positive Mental Attitude. He must be fully familiar with the layout of the hotel and its facilities in order to fulfil the role as a front line sales person producing the maximum revenue and profit, while retaining the goodwill and confidence of the guest. Remembering faces and names is a great advantage as this ability greatly enhances the image of the hotel among the repeat guests. Nothing is more pleasant than being greeted by name by a smiling receptionist.

The receptionist must always be alert and ready to take care of the approaching guest without delay. Before taking up duty the incoming staff members shall be briefed by the outgoing crew concerning all matters outstanding or needing a further follow-up. Each receptionist will also take a look at the log book for any details requiring attention.
