Information Systems Manager

The job of Information Systems Manager is for designing configuring installing maintaining and repairing network

systems subsystems computersservers overseeing the computerserver room operation and environment

providing information direction andor recommendations regarding network installations and configurations including

television intercom and telecom services IP Cameras mobile terminals payment processing devices and wireless

systems resolving network operational issues and providing technical support to Application end users.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

· Administers systems and servers related to LAN and WAN e.g. email systems accounts print queue

workstation ID IP assignments computer labs classroom computers VOIP firewall security antivirus

spyware etc. for the purpose of ensuring availability of services to authorized users.

· Assesses incidents complaints andor accidents for the purpose of resolving or recommending a resolution

to the situation.

· Designs computer networks e.g. internet web mail FTP servers etc. for the purpose of ensuring effective

and efficient operating systems.

· Directs department personnel for the purpose of prioritizing project deadlines and ensuring optimal utilization

of personnel.

· Installs network client and server software on a variety of platforms e.g. service packs application

software operating software primarily Microsoft Linux hardware upgrades etc. for the purpose of

upgrading and maintaining WANLAN and telecommunication systems.

· Maintains network operations and software applications e.g. servers file print application WEB database

proxy etc. operating systems server backup routine maintenance programs etc. for the purpose of

ensuring efficient operations.

· Sets policies and guidelines for DRS Disaster Recovery System

· Manages assigned projects and program components including television intercom IP Cameras mobile

terminals payment processing machines and wireless services e.g. migration to new systems scheduling

installations product research etc. for the purpose of delivering services in compliance with established

guidelines andor objectives.



Organizational

· Performs personnel administrative functions e.g. hiring training supervising evaluating providing

professional development opportunities etc. for the purpose of maintaining adequate staffing enhancing

productivity of personnel and ensuring department outcomes are achieved.

· Trains staff primarily within the technology area for the purpose of ensuring their ability to use new andor

existing operating systems and application software in a most efficient manner.

· Participates in a variety of planning and development activities for the purpose of creating short and long

range IT growth plans including budgeting.

· Recommends equipment supplies and materials e.g. purchase equipment lease equipment etc. for the

purpose of acquiring required items and completing jobs efficiently.

· Recommends policies procedures andor actions for the purpose of providing direction for meeting the

company’s IT goals and objectives. At the same time ensuring compliance with company policies and legal

directives.

· Researches trends products equipment tests etc. for the purpose of recommending procedures andor

purchases in accordance with ongoing futuristic IT Trends.


Skills


Technical

· Prepares written materials e.g. procedures system level documentation reports memos letters budgets

etc. for the purpose of documenting activities providing written reference andor conveying information.

· Troubleshoots malfunctions of network hardware andor software applications within the local and wide area

networks television wireless intercom telephones and security systems etc. e.g. servers hubs routers

network protocols etc. for the purpose of resolving operational issues and restoring services.

· Manage software licenses on a companywide basis

Interpersonal

· Coordinate internal client and vendor communications and data exchange



ESSENTIAL PRIOR EXPERIENCE

• 12 total years IT Systems Administration with minimum 5 years past experience managing IT department

with Microsoft as underlying technology.

• Knowledge in Data management database development workflow optimization Scripting is desirable.

• Coordination of 247 data and communications internationally to support outsourcing

• Disaster recovery planning and testing

• Platform requirement

• Microsoft Windows Servers Linux IIS Active Directory terminal services and computer management

• Microsoft SQL Server 200520082012 Oracle Installation knowledge

• Experience in the following areas is desirable

• Desktop Support of Auto Cad Adobe Photoshop and other graphics programs Microsoft Office iWork

Adobe Acrobat Symantec Team viewer BusinessinaBox Smart Draw
