JOB PURPOSE


This role is part of the Salam New Business team whose purpose is to focus on business winning activities across all Salam proposals to the Royal Saudi Air Force RSAF and to facilitate a business winning culture across the various bid teams.


The Bid Manager Salam New Business will work within the Salam organisation ensuring that the business winning principles in accordance with the Operational Framework from Phase to 2B are fully adhered to.nbsp In addition the Bid Manager shall work with the teams to establish clear and realistic bid management plans and ensure the appropriate colour reviews are held to ensure a winning proposal is tabled to the RSAF.


The Bid Manager shall work with the bid teams to establish Price to Win workshops and support the development of the Capture Plans and proposal win strategies.


The Bid Manager will be the driving force in the bid team empowered with full responsibility for the bid process and reporting to the respective Head of Capture for the duration of the bids.


The Bid Manager will be made responsible at the Phase 1B review but involved in planning typically from 1A for leading the BidProposal team and will implements the BidProposal Management Plan with primary responsibility for BidProposal governance compliance the management of formal Proposals and associated review material.


The Bid Manager will ensure that Bid Status Reviews are held on a monthly basis across all Salam Capability proposals ensures that the Costed Proposal Register is maintained and current and support the Head of Capture in the Salam New Business Reviews held monthly.nbsp Further the Bid Manager will work with the individual bid teams to improve the quality of reporting within the BAE Systems Saudi Arabia Project Reporting System PRS.


RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION



  • Experienced in the generation of bids and clearance through the RBA process.

  • Have a detailed knowledge of BAE Governance.

  • Experience of dealing with senior team members up to BAE Systems Board Director Level.

  • Experience of dealing with senior vendor personnel and senior personnel within the Customer community.

  • The effective management of staff.

  • Experience within BAE Systems of which a significant portion has been in management positions.

  • In depth knowledge of the Defence industry is preferred.

  • Extensive knowledge of export contracting.

  • Extensive knowledge of understanding influencing creating and tracking Customer Requirements within Business Winning.

  • A working knowledge of Offset and Export Finance Capture Planning amp Execution

  • Customer and stakeholder relationship management.

  • Experience in the application of Business Winning Processes policies tools and Approvals including use of LCM Phase 0 2B

  • A working knowledge of the business functions and their respective roles and responsibilities.

    JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES



    • Listed below are some of the typical activities undertaken however this is not intended to be a fully comprehensive list

    • Leads all aspects of the planning and execution of the overall Proposal development effort including all materials delivered to the Customer.

    • Leads and manages the BidProposal Team through all BidProposal aspects of Capture activities including budget administration resource and facilities estimation and development and execution of the BidProposal Management Plan.

    • Definestailors and implements a suitable BidProposal process to fit the Opportunity integrating the solution refinementfreeze with the Proposal development activities

    • Ensures RFP requirements are identified and addressed determines appropriate Proposal document structure and conducts storyboard and win theme development activities.

    • Prepares and trains BidProposal Team members as required in the BidProposal process methods to ensure understanding and adherence to the process practices and schedule established for the BidProposal.

    • In coordination with the bid teams and appropriate project managers selects reviewers and schedulesorganises key BidProposal reviews to assure Proposal quality and compliance together with consistency across the Proposal and associated plans and review material.

    • Manages the business approval process any security and export approvals and the final editing production and Proposal delivery arrangements. Ensures configuration control of all key proposal documentation and ensures effective communication of changes to key stakeholders.

    • Manages any resubmission or clarification activities through to contract award LCM Phase 2B.

    • Support the development of Business Development Graduates as they cycle through the Salam programme.
