Position Project Engineer for Infrastructure
Duties amp Responsibilities
The candidate will be required to undertake the design management of design submissions from local external AE firms.
This position will also act as Deputy Chief Civil Site Engineer with regard to the team management of the Civil Site Development Team as directed by the Chief Civil Engineer. Job duties include
Reviewing the basic design checking and ensuring Engineering Quality Design of site preparation and site development design submissions from local independent Engineering Firms AE
Ensuring that the Royal Commission technical requirements are met in the design and that the optimum designs are achieved.
Represent the RC in technical meetings Value Engineering analysis and as well as providing technical support during the construction phase.
Skills amp Experience
University graduate with B.S. in Civil Engineering.
Substantial experience in Civil Engineering Design related work on large industrial and infrastructure jobs.
Design management of external AE's.
Organizational skills with regard to the coordination of project plan reviews technical queries Industrial Investment Department requests Land Allocation Requests etc.
Plans and establishes the organizational structure engineering procedures engineering standards methods and services to fulfill a wide variety of technical and engineering support.
Conversant with the practices and procedures of International Design Codes and Standards.
Additionally the candidate must have strong experience related to the design and design management of the following areas
Industrial site development
Preparation of site layout
Master Plan development
Site grading and stripping
Cut and fill calculations
Drainage ditches
Duct banks
Major civil structures and culverts
Road and pavement design
Drainage storm water basin design
Flood plains
Sanitary sewers
Major civil structures and culverts
Drainage ditches
Duct banks
Selection of construction materials
Interpretation and use of surveying information and data
Analysis of best site arrangement to save on large cut and fill operation
Computer modeling and software use for optimum site selection and final elevation
Selection of construction materials i.e. sand aggregate concrete mix design membranes etc.
