Brief Posting Description
Director, Technical will be assisting the Executive Director in areas related to the technical side of QNRF core Business; Director, Technical will be responsible for the planning of these activities and the follow up on the execution with the appropriate staff. Director, Technical will be a member of QNRF Directors Committee (DC), where he/she is expected to be part of the decision making processes of QNRF.
Detailed Description
The Director, Technical will assist the QNRF Executive Director in implementing QNRF vision and mission for the existing and any future technical activities
Supervise the execution of QNRF strategic plans as set by the QNRF Steering (SC) Committee/Governing Board (GB), with subordinates and Act as a member of QNRF Directors Committee (DC)
Supervise the technical team of program managers and officers during
o the assignment of peer reviewers for all funding programs and activities
o the review of technical progress reports of the awarded projects for all funding programs
Undertake the planning of QNRF process, policy and procedures in connection with all scientific issues
Ensure that manpower planning of QNRF technical PMs and POs is aligned with its strategic planning as set by the SC/GB
Maintain and secure all QNRF Information and database
Ensure that QNRF messages are well delivered and communicated inside and outside Qatar and keep the right public image for QNRF
Provides periodic, annual and or as deemed necessary by the (EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR )
Represents QNRF in committees within or outside QF as applicable when applicable
Supervise the workflow with key staff, ensuring that tasks are balanced across the department during peaks and ebbs of work
Monitoring execution of various tasks to meet deadlines
Use of judgment skills and in-depth knowledge of QNRF practices and procedures to provide guidance and coordination to other Directors in implementation of duties.
Managing the planning and logistics for events, workshops, conferences, and short courses
The Director, Technical will be responsible for putting in place a qualified and capable team that can effectively fulfill the QNRF’s mission. Key responsibilities include:
Hiring and retaining staff.
Reviewing performance for staff.
