Purpose
To implement, maintain, troubleshoot and configure Database Track’s systems in order to support the operations and enhance the performance of AGC’s underlying databases and ensure business continuity through the implementation of security and back-up strategies within AGC’s operational plans, and adopted policies and procedures.
Key Accountability Areas:
1- Consulting and Implementation
Key Activities :
• Implement software and hardware capacity plans through the installation and configuration of hardware and software to cater for business processes and deliver end users’ access requirements
• Conduct database testing activities to ensure delivery of technical requirements within set plans
• Undertake the implementation of security measures to ensure compliance to policies on database, operating systems, and applications
• Create, test, fine-tune and safe keep database images, back up files and physical tapes of all databases on a regular basis
2- Technical Support
Key Activities :
• Identify and assist in troubleshooting hardware, database, operating systems and applications issues to increase systems’ performance, stability and availability
• Troubleshoot and resolve Service Desk issued tickets and follow up with end users to ensure resolution and participate in the preparation of recommended action plans to avoid recurrence and enhance services provided
• Address and resolve identified back up, restore and security issues, and report on progress to Database Track Manager and relevant stakeholde
3- Audit
Key Activities :
• Assist in preparing all required documents related to Database Track for internal and external audits
• Assist in the review and validation of audit issues to ensure accurate reporting and consistency
• Support in addressing and resolving audit findings through the implementation of action plans to safeguard AGC’s IT related interests
4- Policies, Processes and Procedures
Key Activities :
• Follow all relevant IT’s policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
• Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement
• Promote the implementation and adherence to policies, processes and operating procedures to others within the organization
5- Safety, Health and Environment
Key Activities :
• Comply with all relevant safety, health and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment
• Participate in incident and accident investigations as required inline with agreed safety, health and environment policies, procedures and controls
• Report on changes within the organization that impact relevant safety, health and environmental management policies, procedures and controls
