Job Description



Reporting to the Construction Manager the Resident Engineer will review and evaluate contract documents and recommend to client any modification to ensure completeness of information according to project requirements.



You will assume full responsibility and safeguard the interest and rights of the client in accordance with the contract without compromising any without his written authorization.



Submit recommendations to client with regards to

• Approvals of subcontractors

• Approvals of the revised cost and time of the project

• Approval of mandated modifications in the works

• Approval of payment of due monies to the various parties involved in the project

• Approval and authorization of unforeseen expenses and measure resulting from unforeseen conditions in the works affecting the completion of the project



Monitor contractor and subcontractors to ensure completion of works within time budget and quality

• Review and evaluation of the Master Schedule of the contractor

• Review and evaluation of material and drawings submittal schedule

• Review of delays incurred in the performance of works recommend corrective measures acquire client approval and ensure implementation of such measures

• Monitor and follow up on procurement of materials and services particularly long lead items



Review and evaluation of variation orders analyze potential impacts on cost and schedule and present to client for approval

Validate and monitor contractor’s delivery and storage of materials on site

Monitor contractor’s inspection and testing activities on and offsite to ensure compliance to schedule

Monitor contractor’s statutory submittals to ensure timely acquisition of authority approvals

Review contractor’s claims against contract and provide recommendations to client

Prepare necessary correspondence and supporting documents before submission to concerned parties

Review and approve contractor’s submittals that includes RFI’s ITP’s Method Statements Drawings Manuals Progress Reports etc.
