Senior Geologist - Qatar (15 years experience)
This is a permanent (staff position) where you must have a minimum of 15 years experience to be suitable.

With an economy based on high Oil & Gas revenues and a solid investment policy from the Government, the Qatari economy has continued to grow whilst the rest of the World struggled during the Credit Crunch.
Our client a leading National organisation with decades of industry experience is currently looking to recruit a Senior Geologist to work in Gas Development division.
The role:
- Coordinates and controls the acquisition of geological data by joint venture companies and constructs, updates and evaluates geological models in support of reservoir characterization and reservoir simulation studies.
- Participates in preparation of the clients geological data acquisition tenders for assigned field(s), participates in evaluation of bids and recommendation to award contract as required by the department.
- Also, is aware of, and when appropriate, participates in and safeguards the clients interests in all geosciences tenders and contracts with joint venture companies.
- Keeps department management apprised on the status of ongoing geological studies and critical geological operations through technical presentations and briefings as required on a daily or regular basis.
Experience/Qualifications:
- At least 15 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry practising relevant geological and petrophysical analysis, for hydrocarbon reservoirs.
- Field development and reservoir characterization background are highly recommended.
- Carbonate reservoir experience is highly recommended.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Should have a demonstrated ability to perform as an effective team member in a multidisciplinary team.
- Should have the ability to guide and help more junior members of the geosciences team.
- Fluent in English (demonstrated verbal and written skills).
