Purpose:
• Supervise printing of outdoor advertisement material based on client requirements and allocated time frame. Supervise last-line graphic designs to ensure that the graphics are in line with print technical specifications as well as provide the required quality level of the final outputs.
• Ensure the job is completed in proper manner and delivered to respective clients/installation team according to the nature of job.
• Monitor any matters related printer maintenance, cutter maintenance, repair and replacement of parts.
Key Duties / Responsibilities:
Strategic:
• Contribute towards development and implementation of Print Operations Unit policies and overall print production capability.
• Develop print production procedures and instructions as well as initiate and implement initiatives targeted to overall Unit effectiveness.
Operational:
• Based on overall production plans and approved production orders, develop detailed production schedules as well as ensure that production plans are met.
• Organize production team composition and develop detailed employee work schedules to ensure that shift outputs are met.
• Make sure the production teams are completing the task based on productions/installation specifications.
• Monitor that production team are operating in line with the approved procedures and instructions.
• Inspect final production output (selectively or all) to ensure it is in line with the approved technical requirements and quality standards.
• Coordinate resolution of any technical incidents and equipment faults to ensure that the production process disruption is minimized.
• Supervise that all preventive/ schedules maintenance of production equipment is performed on time.
• Monitor print material levels in the warehouse as well as initiate ordering of additional material as and when required.
• Coordinate with the management and supplier support technicians in dealing with the machines problems.
• Conduct stock inventory on printers/cutters parts and order when necessary.
• Ensure the materials used for production been completely used and maintaining records for the usage of materials.
• Housekeeping of printing facility which includes ensuring the facility is kept always clean from the used materials and wastes produced from the finishing of the products.
• Investigate any customer complaints with regards to production quality to identify causes for quality deficiency as well as ensure that these causes are removed.
• Supervise installation of new equipment as well as coordinate its testing to ensure that the equipment is working as per initial requirements and technical specifications.
• Supervise last-line graphic design to ensure that the designs are in line with print production technical specifications.
• Coordinate client acceptance of the final graphic design and format. If required, coordinate production of test prints.
• Ensure that employees under supervision follow health and safety requirements.
• Liaise with support functions as and when required to ensure that production employees receive the required level of support
• Perform any other work related duties as assigned by the Operations Manager, Prints.
People:
• Ensure effective communication of corporate information to employees within the Unit including relevant policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with the performance management process and its linkages to learning and development, compensation, promotion, career development and succession planning. This is done in full collaboration with the HR function.
• Coach and mentor direct subordinates to develop their skills and ensure continuous people development.
