Job purpose amp Scope
- The position is responsible to provide technical expertise on all engineering subject matters pertaining to Process Engineering and Design including equipment sizing and layout as well as assuring quality of Engineering Consultant's Process design and optimization activities while complying with industry and company codes international standards practices and procedures.

Principal Accountabilities
- Prepares scope of work for external consultants and EPC contractors
- Reviews the design works and studies performed by the Engineering Consultants and ensures that they are in accordance with the technical requirements and meet the standards.
- Reviews and approves drawings specifications and technical documents for all Process Design related works.
- Participates in the technical evaluation of tenders and issuance of recommendations.
- Provides technical guidance to develop new specifications and update existing specifications.
- Monitors the performance of engineering contractorsconsultants amp provides necessary design inputs and follows up during the execution of the basic and detailed engineering.
- Ensures that the stateofart technology is applied throughout the engineering phase for cost effective solutions and application of value added engineering throughout the assigned works.
- Participates in the prequalification of engineering consultantsvendors and review the bidders list.
- Provides inputupdate Engineering Procedures Company standards Technical Specifications Design Philosophies and Engineering Guidelines.
- Participates in site surveys of Company facilities to establish and identify actual requirements.
- Provides technical assistance coordination and liaison with other discipline engineers within the Company and other business units to acquire technical and general requirements and manage interfaces.
- Reviews Design Basis Philosophies and Specifications related to Process Engineering.
- Performs plant modification and refurbishment studies and process simulation using different computer softwarersquos.
- Develops detailed heat and material balance and designs for new internally engineered projects and reviews the major modifications in the production facilities.
- Develops process flow diagrams PFDs Piping and Instrument Diagrams PampIDs utility Flow Diagrams UFD Cause and effect tables and the required design specifications and performs equipment sizing calculations and calculate line sizes and make flow summaries.
- Provides process data for instrument sizing and prepares technical proposals and engineering estimates and scope of work for the studiesprojects to be handled by outside Consultant or contractors.
- Prepares startup and commissioning procedures for the new modification and provide assistance in preparing operating manuals and procedures and applies international codes and HSE guidelines to existing and new modifications
- Assists and participates in troubleshooting plant startup and commissioning and provides technical advice and assistance to plant operation and maintenance sections and participate in operation review audit.
- Interfaces with other engineering disciplines and provide process input to engineering activities Participates and chairs HAZOP and HAZID studies.
Organizational Relationships Work Contacts
- Provides support to Project Managers and Engineers within the FIELD Offshore Project Projects Engineering Team. Interfaces with Project Managers and Engineers in Company's Technical Departments Business Units and Operations Units.
- Interfaces regularly with Contractor's Engineering and Project Management Team whenever required.
Independence of Operations and Decisionmaking Authority
- Responsible for execution of tasks assigned and identifies and coordinates company external services to complete tasks. Works within departmental company guidelines and professional standards. Identifies most effective way of completing assignments showing initiative and able to set priorities.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelorsrsquo degree in Chemical Engineering.
- At least 15 years working industry experience of which last 5 should have been oil and gas industry related. Experience shall have covered projects detailed design and operations technical support. Experience with contractors and worldwide suppliers in particular those involved in the construction of major oil and gas facilities.
- Detailed knowledge of relevant international codes and standards.
- Experienced with Process modeling computer programs and general business software.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to make independent decisions in the planning organizing and coordinating to develop solutions to complex problems.
