Senior Coordinator of Accreditation - Qatar Foundation

Job Purpose:

The Senior Coordinator of Accreditation, Assessment and Quality Development is responsible for directing the assessment activities across the Postgraduate Studies Program in the Translation and Interpreting Institute for the purposes of program development and evaluation, accreditation/validation, and institutional effectiveness. S/he reports to the Executive Director of the Institute, and works closely with all Directors and Administration.

In particular, the Senior Coordinator of Accreditation, Assessment and Quality Development works closely with the faculty to develop and implement the assessment and accreditation/validation plan for the Institute; s/he coordinates all accreditation/validation activities for the four MA programs, policies and procedures, including Academic Program Assessment Reviews; manages the design and implementation of systems for collecting, analyzing, and reporting data related to candidate achievement and learning, program performance, and institutional effectiveness; works with faculty to implement e-assessment and course assessment, including but not limited to, development and validation of rubrics, program feedback loops, and reports; works with various constituents to interpret data and evidence collected, and to facilitate the use of the information for ongoing improvement in programs and student learning; oversees the implementation and use of assessment surveys, including but not limited to, end-of-course evaluation; and works closely with the HBKU.



KEY RESULT AREAS

 Provides general support to the Institute’s assessment program through direct support of the academic and administrative units. Consults with the Postgraduate Studies Program Director in developing, measuring, and analyzing learning outcomes and administrative units in developing, measuring, and analyzing performance outcomes.

 Coordinates all accreditation/validation activities for the four MA programs with different international institutions and produces all of the materials in relation to the validation requirements.

 Designs and coordinates Program Evaluation Process reviews of academic programs, including working with the relevant departments/programs, arranging for external evaluators, chairing assessment panels, writing up the Program Evaluation Process reports, and ensuring the completion and follow-up of tasks required to ascertain changes made as a result of the process.

 Designs data collection instruments and assists with conducting surveys to assess departmental goals and objectives.

 Oversees the Institute’s plan for academic assessment, determines a common timetable for assessment stages, and advises all academic assessment activities by aiding with the selection of assessable criteria and the selection or development of appropriate instruments.

 Assists with the maintenance of a comprehensive institutional assessment database and reports on the Institute’s assessment activities as requested/appropriate.

 Provides for the assessment education of faculty and staff by arranging training, workshops, meetings, etc., and maintaining a library of assessment methodologies, ideas, and materials; builds and maintains a pool of current resources and information about national assessment issues by attending appropriate conferences and procuring relevant publications.

 Recommends policies and procedures to improve the Institute’s institutional effectiveness program and performs other duties as may be required.
