Includes but are not limited to directs, coordinates non-supervisory contractor employees and provides a variety of trades work and services in the performance of new construction, installations, alterations, maintenance, and repairs onboard vessels and around Saudi Aramco facilities. Plans, schedules and assigns work to be accomplished via oral or written instructions for work on emergency/service, recurring, preventive maintenance, minor or specific jobs. Resolves unforeseen technical and trade problems in the unit. Ensures schedules are met, or reports reasons for non-compliance to immediate supervisor, possibly requiring a revision of estimate submittal. Attends formal and informal meetings with immediate supervisor and planning personnel concerning ways and means of accomplishing the work projects, and possibly more efficiently. Responsible for establishing and providing the necessary services to fulfill the operation needs, this includes assisting when and where necessary. Instructs subordinates with difficult assignments, the proper use of tools, equipment, and new materials of the trade. Motivates subordinates in areas of morale, and completing jobs under adverse conditions, such as moving an employee from one job to another before completion, and working on several jobs simultaneously. Inspects and reviews the progress of jobs, complimenting and disapproving when and wherever necessary. Hears and attempts to resolve grievances and complaints and cooperates in the investigation of formal or informal discrimination complaints ensuring expeditious action.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
• General knowledge of work performed by the various trades.
• Ability to direct and coordinate the efforts of trades such as sandblasting, painting, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, pipefitting, welding, painting, cement finishing, heating, air conditioning, and sheet metal services.
• Coordinates the work with all parties involved including operation personnel, management, planning personnel, utility personnel, and craftsman.
• Recommends overtime as needed. Monitors cost of work being performed.
• Specifies materials needed and arranges procurement.
• Ensures schedules are met or reports non-compliance.
• Directs and coordinates the work in areas such as: structural and finish carpentry, electrical, plumbing, pipefitting, welding, painting, cement finishing, heating, air conditioning, sheet metal, masonry, sign making and locksmith work.
• Interprets prints, prepares layouts, makes sketches.
• Recommends changes in methods and to work plans for cost reductions.
