This Library Web Developer holds primary responsibility for developing the QNL’s website in conjunction with the library web development team. The position supports the development and deployment of all web-based services and applications.
Detailed Description
- Develop the library’s website in conjunction with the library web development team.
- Develop and maintain the Central Library’s web applications including blogs, wikis and content management systems
- Develop, customize and maintain SharePoint for library specific activities
- Configure, support and maintain web and database applications
- Contribute to the development of frontend interfaces for born-digital and digitized resources
- Implement appropriate design principles, guidelines and coding standards
- Develop, coordinate and maintain appropriate technical documentation such as training manuals, procedures, user guidelines, coding standards
- Evaluate, report on, and implement web development tools, such as 3D applications, graphics software, HTML editors and search applications
- Assist with implementing organizational web development strategies
- Generate and collate web usage statistics, reports and analysis
- Ensure compliance of library web pages with web accessibility standards
- Keep abreast of developments, trends and issues in areas of responsibility
- Participate in team work and committees as needed
- Familiarize, understand and implement QF health, safety, and environment policy, procedures, legal regulations and objectives applicable to areas of responsibility.
- Ensures coordination with HSE department in implementing, monitoring and reviewing of HSE performance to ensure work under his/her control is performed in a safe, healthy and environmentally sound manner.
