The Graphic Designer provides support to the Qatar National Library through creation and execution of innovative graphics, visual presentations, promotional materials, educational materials, library brochures, reports and publications. Also contributes to the development of design concepts and graphics by assisting cross functional teams as required.
Key Result Areas:
• Development of communication materials as required, in-line with the QNL’s branding guidelines.
• Conceptualize visual designs for different purposes (e.g. promotion, branding, signage, education and research and present concept designs and sketches for end users.
• Contribute to design logos, page layouts, website design, book covers, CD/DVD covers, posters and other promotional/marketing materials for the Library as required.
• Ensure compliance with QNL and QF communications procedures, guidelines and strategy
• Comply with the academic publishing practices and regulations pertaining to Intellectual Property Rights.
• Use digital cameras and digital video cameras to capture raw visual materials for graphic design.
• Coordinate with colleagues to ensure that online digital media and printed media products meet standard and within production schedules and deadlines.
• Maintain fresh and innovative ideas for visual imagery by researching and evaluating designs used in websites, magazines and other visual sources.
• Coordinate with external companies regarding technical standards, specifications, analysis of wet-proofs and dry-proofs for color; and layout accuracy for final approval
• Develop all required promotional, marketing and PR artwork required for different QNL events as requested
• Advise QNL teams on communications regulations, guidelines and Intellectual Property Rights once required
• Develop and manage QNL image bank and ensure its validity to be used for different QNL events.
• Develop reports as required for the management
• Use computer software to generate new images
• Review final layouts and suggest improvements as needed.
• Familiarize, understand and implement QF Health, safety and environment policy procedures, legal regulations and objectives applicable to areas of responsibility. Ensures coordination with HSE department in implementing, monitoring and reviewing of HSE performance to ensure work under his/her control is performed in a safe, healthy and environmentally sound manner.
