Job Objective:
Reports to the Bridge Design Manager and performs structural design reviews as assigned by the Design Bridge Manager using conventional and moderately-complex engineering techniques and analyses. Reviews, coordinates and monitors the works of structural designers and engineers, comparing design with project established specifications. Some assignments may involve CAE (computer aided engineering)/CAD (computer aided design) applications. Supports adherence to correct implementation of the project quality plan and quality procedures and productivity related to all structural-related type works in accordance with the program of planned work on the construction site.
Key Accountabilities:
· Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses as assigned by the Principal Bridge Engineer.
· Reviews specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents as necessary.
· Provides technical guidance to structural engineers and CAD Technicians.
· Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.
· Reviews design consultant’s submittals and perform technical bid analyses.
· Reviews and/or prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other documents as necessary.
· Supports the review and checks of structural designs including BOQ checks and reviews and/or prepares responses to RFIs related to assigned design and construction projects.
· Reviews the scope of structural design work according to the contract and monitors progress of bridge design work by others.
· Coordinates production of relevant drawings and their release for the execution of works.
· Supports the Bridge Design Manager in performing other tasks as deemed necessary as related to structural works.
· Reviews and/or prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents as necessary.
