Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the Assistant Manager, Human Resources is responsible for providing leadership and guidance for a variety of human resources activities including recruitment, HR Records, Immigration, compensation and benefit administration and oversight. This position will manage and refine HR work flow processes, cross functional training, and documentation to ensure the best possible service is provided to all staff of CNA-Q.
• Provides supervision to employees in HR Records, Benefits, Payroll, Recruitment, Immigration, HRIS management and general guidance and support of all Human Resource Employees.
• Develops and revises position descriptions for staff positions in consultation with area manager and seeks responsible manager approval.
• Provides assistance to the Recruitment Officer during peak periods.
• Ensures documentation and guidelines are established and updated as required for any internal and external processes affecting HR.
• Assesses compensation bands for employees, considers regular increases and presents draft documentation to VP Finance and President for consideration and approval.
• Provides general support for the Immigration team.
• Identifies, researches and recommends appropriate training for employees under his/her supervision upon request.
• Provides direct oversight and supervision to the HR Officer, HRIS Officer and Recruitment Officer.
• May be asked to join various committees as required not limited to the Employee Relations Committee or Occupational Health and Safety Committee.
• Assists with the Development of the Human Resources Budget and expenditures.
