The Economist is responsible to contribute to the development of the Organization positions on relevant economic issues by providing economic analysis and advice across the entire range of the Organization’s activities. The areas covered include :
• Market definition, assessment of competition and market power, dominance designation
• Liberalization and regulatory strategy
• Economic models for regulatory use
• Price Benchmarking
• Accounting separation
• Analysis of competitions issues (e.g. complains and potential abuses of margin squeeze, bundling, predatory pricing)
• Periodic market/sector review and survey of the sector
• Design of effective and proportionate regulations and remedies (.e.g. retail price controls, access regulation)
• Assist in the implementation of remedies (e.g. analysis of propose price changes).
• Cost of capital
