RTU PROJECT ENGINEER Field Representative

Job Description


Job purpose amp Scope



  • Ensure the provision of the necessary operations and maintenance input on the Project deliverables particularly during the execution stage to ensure full compliance with the Site requirements and minimize the documents review cycle. As the Sitersquos focal point for input to the new project is responsible for maintaining a strong and effective Project interface with the Site.

    Principal Accountabilities



    • Effective participation in project FEED Design stage.

    • Ensure third party equipment like for example coriolis meter and others are properly interfaced to the RTU configured and successfully tested commissioned with Field control center

    • Assist in the technical evaluation approval and selection of equipment and systems

    • Ensure uniformity and standardization compatibility at optimum levels in design and engineering in all phases of project.

    • Interface whenever necessary with Site Representatives on all Technical Operational and Maintenance issues associated with the new work project.

    • At any project phase ensure that the requirement are properly and satisfactorily addressed in accordance with Projectrsquos approved scope of works.

    • Expedites and consolidates as necessary Sitersquos input to the Project deliverables.

    • Review and forward comments on documents related to Engineering Testing Installation Commissioning and changeover workpacks documents.

    • Interfaces with Package Leader on all technical operational and maintenance issues associated with the project works.

    • Coordinates the download of existing Site Databases for Contractors use at any time.

    • Inspection of project equipment before approving Design Testing at contractor site

    • Review all equipment testing procedures generated by contractor before calling endusers to witness the factory Acceptance TestingFAT at contractor site. Review all contractor preFAT testing logs before inviting client to witness amp participate in FAT testing.

    • Attend all testing and inspection of project equipment at contractor vendor site before certifying them fit for shipment to site.

    • Ensure all Punch list raised during the equipment Factory Acceptance TestingFAT conducted at contractorvendor testing factory are cleared before approve shipment of equipment to client site.

    • Make sure thatat the end of the project allproject ASBUILT details have been successfully reflected updated in all related project documents before submitting the final approved version to client at site.

    • Effective participation with a representative from Field production team to review concerned Plant Operation Manuals and make sure to modify Delete incorporate all existing new project related information as and when found necessary.

    • Ensure at the end of the project that all documents related to the project such as Maintenance Operation Configurations and related AsBuilt RTUInstrumentation Drawings are RevisedFinalized before submitting final copy to client at site.

    • Review and forward comments on FEED Deliverable. Review Project Engineering Design Specification Activities performed by consultants and EPC contractors for all TelecommunicationTelemetry SCADA Control and Safety Systems related deliverables etc.

      Organizational Relationships Work Contacts



      • Regular interaction and contacts with engineers and other Project PMTPMC teammembers. Constant liaison requiring understanding and cooperation with the concerned parties with the Site concerned work coordinators and also with the business units in the Company. Regular contacts with consultantscontractorsvendors and specialists for reviewing the design document along with the Project team.

        Independence of Operations and Decisionmaking Authority



        • Works under the directions of the Package Leader as part of the Project Team MPT and in accordance with Company policies processes and overall department guidelines to address Site constraints and operationsmaintenance requirements to meet the end user expectation. Provides the required feedback on behalf of Site during the execution stage which requires excellent coordination with concerned Site personnel.

          Minimum Requirements



          • BSC Engineering ndash Instrumentation and Control or equivalent.

          • A minimum of 12 years experience in the Oil and Gas Industry mostly on site dealing with control systems operations and maintenance issues. Some offshore experience would be useful.

          • Experience in Project management control and facilitation necessary.

          • Intimate knowledge of the Site control systems e.g. SCADA systems or their equivalent.

          • Excellent communication skills.

          • High level of both written and spoken English.
