Job purpose amp Scope

• The position is responsible to provide technical expertise on all engineering subject matter pertaining to Mechanical Engineer Static and design including layout component selectionapplication materials and stress analysis With the Objective to ensure quality and accuracy of Mechanical Engineering Static Consultantrsquos Process Engineering and design activities Within the Limits of industry and company codes international standards practices and procedures.

  Principal Accountabilities

  
  

  
  
  • Prepares scope of work for external consultants and EPC contractors for the execution of jobs.
  
  
  • Reviews the design works and studies performed by the Engineering Consultants and ensure that they are in accordance with the technical requirements and meet the standards.
  
  
  • Reviews and approves drawings specifications and technical documents for all Civil Design related works.
  
  
  • Participates in the technical evaluation of tenders and issuance of recommendations.
  
  
  • Provides technical guidance to develop new specifications and update existing specifications.
  
  
  • Performs calculations for design validation and optimization.
  
  
  • Participates in Layout Design 3D Model HAZID PHA reviews and technical workshops
  
  
  • Monitors the performance of engineering contractorsconsultants amp provide necessary design inputs and follows up during the execution of the basic and detailed engineering.
  
  
  • Ensures that the stateofart technology is applied throughout the engineering phase for cost effective solutions and application of value added engineering throughout the assigned works.
  
  
  • Participates in the prequalification of engineering consultantsvendors and review the bidders list.
  
  
  • Provides inputupdate Engineering Procedures Company standards Technical Specifications Design Philosophies and Engineering Guidelines.
  
  
  • Participates in site surveys of Company facilities and to establish and identify the actual requirements.
  
  
  • Provides technical assistance coordination and liaise with other discipline engineers within the Company and other business units to acquire technical and general requirements
  
  
  • Review Design Basis Philosophies and Specifications related to Mechanical Engineering Static
  
  
  • Conducts technical evaluation for selection of Engineering Consultants.
  
  
  • Reviews the design works of Engineering Consultantrsquos work and ensures compliances with COMPANY requirements international standards and engineering norms.
  
  
  • Reviews and approve drawings and technical documents for all rotating equipment.
  
  
  • Participates in site surveys of facilities to establish and identify the actual requirements.
  
  
  • Carries out design calculations as a tool for design checks.
  
  
  • Participates in HAZOPHAZIDPHSERLayout Review design reviews and audits.
  
  
  • Witnessrsquos performance tests including FAT and SAT for acceptance or rejection of equipment based on Company requirements specifications and standard.
  
  
  • Prepares Business Case for projects.
  
  
  • Participates in technical audits on Consultant Engineer Contractor Vendor Offices during prequalification and to evaluate their performance during project execution.
    
    
    

    Organizational Relationships Work Contacts

    
    

    
    
    • Provides support to Project Managers and Engineers within the Field Capacity Expansion Projects Engineering Team. Interface with Project Managers and Engineers in Company's Technical Departments Business Units Operations Units and Logistics Department.
    
    
    • Interfaces regularly with Contractor's Engineering and Project Management Team whenever required.

      • Works within department and Company guideline and professional standard. Identify most effective way of completing assignments showing initiative and able to set priorities.
        
        
        

        Minimum Requirements

        
        

        
        
        • Bachelorrsquos Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
        
        
        • At least 15 years relevant working experience of which 5 year should be in OilGas industry.
        
        
        • Experience should cover static equipment machinery etc.
        
        
        • Computer Literate.
        
        
        • Very good knowledge of English.
