Credit analysts assess and make decisions about customer credit applications using a range of criteria including purpose of application, credit viability, customer payment history, customer credit-worthiness etc. Credit Analysts provide critical financial decision support to the Small-Medium Enterprise (SME) Corporate banking teams. Your internal customers will be the business managers that own and leverage our SME client relationships. You will play a key role in helping them to better understand our customers’ finances and help them to identify opportunities for new business, better services or new ways to generate revenue.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
1. Interacting with the customer, relationship manager and specialists to gather and understand the relevant information and the customer’s business.
2. Analyze credit data and financial statements to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money.
3. Undertaking a complete risk assessment analysis of the borrower [. modus operandi, cash cycles, facility structure risk, environmental and social risk, projections, etc].
4. Evaluate customer records, history, and the relationship’s key performance indicators and ensuring they are within the risk bearing limits.
5. Assist in the preparation of the annual renewals and enhancing the quality of credit applications for submission to loan committees for approval.
6. Interact with Credit to mitigate any concerns that may arise during the annual renewal process.
7. Making recommendations about procedural/policy changes.
