GIS Supervisor

Purpose of the Job

Control the SubAssembly of GIS or GIB Equipment of High voltage substation. He will have to control the subassembly of GISGIBDTCBLTCB parts in the High Voltage SS.





Measurement

Schedule met and all Subassembly of the GIS erected and all marked up drawing produced.



Responsibilities

bull Manage erection crew for the mechanical sub assembly of the GIS switchgear parts.

bull Verifying the state of the equipment prior to assembly or after disassembly

bull Preparing the SF6 gas compartments measure the vacuum the pressure the humidity make corrections relative to temperature interpret the measurements according to the manufacturer documentation

bull Using an SF6 gas recovery plant

bull Inspections before and during subassembly including electrical contact resistance measurement and gas tightness of the assemblies after assembly

bull Coordinates the works with the GIS installation foreman




Network amp Links

He will mainly liaise with the GIS Erection Supervisor the GIS installation foreman and the erection crew.



Qualifications


Educational Requirements


Diplomas Electro Mechanic or equivalent. Additional training on GIS Product and GIS Control System knowhow if available would be added advantage otherwise also candidates would be taken and training would be imparted. 35 years in HV GIS SWGR installation works. History on installation of HV GIS switchgears.


Technical Knowledge Experience


Excellent knowledge and competence in the segment of High Voltage equipment preferable on Gas Insulated Switchgear.

Acceptance of customers of various nationalities and ethnic.

Acceptance of customers not having a GIS history and their technical background.

Key job in the segment of GIS assembling at site with high demand for quality of work to be produced under often very stringent ambience.
