Reporting to Engineering Manager the Design Engineer is responsible for designing developing and maintaining parts and products ranging from small parts to large products to required specifications focusing on economy safety reliability quality and sustainability to be used mainly on military land systems.
The ideal candidate should have significant analysing skills along with strong planning problem solving and communication skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Identifies customer requirements
• Researches suitable solutions and estimates costs and timescales
• Designs systems subsystems and products
• Capable of interpreting design specifications and technical drawings
• Operates computerassisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks
• Ask for prototype manufacturing if needed and oversees the process
• Inspects completed installations and observes operations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards
• Works with military and other standards
• Assists drafters in developing the structural design of products
• Conducts research that tests or analyzes the performance of equipment
• Records analyses and interprets test data
• Recommends design modifications to eliminate product failures
• Qualifies the final product or system
• Prepares product documentation writes reports and gives presentations
• Monitors products in use and suggest improvements on future design
• Investigates and tests competitors' products

REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree required Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in design environment Automotive or Defense industry preferred
• Understanding of design and engineering procedures
• Technical knowledge of computer assisted design CAD software Catia
• Innovative and creative thinking
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• High analytical skills
• Team Player
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
